ROUTT TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS

​ Routt Catholic High School is proud to say that we have several perpetual scholarships available to our students spanning all grade levels. Each scholarship was set up independently of one another and most have specific criteria that is considered when the scholarship is awarded every year. This criteria can range from academic interests, to citizenship, to participation in extra-curricular activities. Some scholarships are need-based and require that the family complete the FACTS Grant & Aid Management Assessment. Routt encourages ALL families to submit an application online to FACTS clicking here. Some scholarships require the student to complete an application or write an essay. Some scholarships require all three. Please reference the word document above that is specific to the grade in which your child will be in for the next academic year, and below you can navigate to each specific scholarship to see what is required and what is considered when awarding that scholarship.

The FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment must be completed by APRIL 15, 2019 for your student(s) to be considered for need-based scholarships.
All Named Scholarship applications and essays must be turned into the Development Office by APRIL 15, 2019.

ROUTT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP
The Routt Catholic High School Board Scholarship will be awarded in the 2018-2019 school year.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP
The Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship for an incoming freshman who has at least one parent who is an alumnus/alumna of Routt Catholic High School. (An alumnus/alumna is someone who attended or graduated from Routt.) Students must apply for the scholarship by writing a 400-500 word essay entitled “What the tradition of Routt Catholic High School means to me.” Essays must be turned into the Routt Development Office by deadline. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION UNIIVERSAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Alumni Association Universal Scholarship is a $700 scholarship for any incoming freshman. Students must apply by writing a 400-500 word essay entitled “What the importance of a Christian education means to me.” (Students with a parent who is an alumnus/alumna of Routt are eligible to apply for both Alumni Association scholarships.) ROBERT GARY BANGERT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The family of Robert Gary Bangert established this Memorial Scholarship . The scholarship was established in 2015, and will be awarded to an incoming freshman or new transfer student from either Bluffs, Scott County , or from a local Christian School who is continuing education at Routt. Must be in good academic standing, and submit a recommendation letter from the student's pastor.

MAYMIE AND JOE BERGSCHNEIDER SCHOLARSHIP
The Maymie and Joe Bergschneider Scholarship was established by their family to honor their contributions to family, church, and community. This scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to a freshman entering Routt Catholic High School. Priority in awarding this scholarship will be based on academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, Christian attitude and information provided in the application. VIRGINIA AND JOE FARRAN SCHOLARSHIP
Virginia and Joe Farran Scholarship was established by their family to honor their contributions to family, church, and community. This scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to a freshman entering Routt Catholic High School. Priority in awarding this scholarship will be based on academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, Christian attitude and information provided in the application. HENRY HYNES SCHOLARSHIP
The Henry Hynes Scholarship was established by family, friends, and classmates in loving memory of Paul J. “Henry” Hynes, class of 1983. It is given to a freshman entering Routt Catholic High School who is community oriented, charitable, and involved in activities and extracurricular activities. An essay is required to be submitted to apply for this scholarship. Essays must be turned into the Routt Development Office by deadline. LOCKMAN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
The Lockman Family Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman or sophomore at Routt Catholic High School who is a Catholic, from a single-parent household, and whose family has demonstrated financial need. An essay on why the student wants to attend RCHS must be submitted to apply for the scholarship. Essays must be turned into the Routt Development Office by deadline. NORBERT MCGINNIS/KNIGHT OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL #868 SCHOLARSHIP
The Norbert McGinnis/Knights of Columbus Council #868 Scholarship was founded to honor the memory of Norbert McGinnis, past executive secretary of the Knights of Columbus, by family, friends and members of Council #868 of the Knights of Columbus. This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving Routt male and female student to be applied towards tuition at Routt Catholic High School. Criteria include the following: 1) student’s parent or grandparent must be a member of the Knights of Columbus; 2) student must have at least a 3.0 GPA; 3) student must demonstrate concern for others by turning in at least 20 documented and approved community service hours into the RCHS guidance office; 4) student must be of sound moral character and a practicing Catholic. MONSIGNOR BUD SPREEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Monsignor Bud Spreen Memorial Scholarship was founded in 2005 by family and friends and will be awarded to a sophomore through junior level student who has financial need, demonstrates respect and concern for others, has had no major disciplinary problems, and has demonstrated excellence within the religion department and possesses a strong sense of their Catholic faith. FATHER KEN VENVERTLOH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Routt High School Education Foundation establishes this Fund in honor of Fr. Ken Venvertloh for his many years of service to Routt Catholic High School. The initial funding for the Fund will be established by the Foundation. The Foundation will provide an annual scholarship in the minimum amount of $5OO.OO to a Routt student. The scholarship shall be awarded to a Routt student based on an essay in the area of human rights in the political arena. The essay shall be written by applicants who are sophomores at Routt Catholic High School. The scholarship shall be awarded for the scholarship winner's junior year as a tuition credit. All applicants who file for awards through the FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment by the April 18th deadline will automatically be considered for the following memorials and scholarships.

JAMES ANGELO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Mr. James Angelo was a lifelong farmer in Morgan County. He was a member of the Church of Our Saviour, where his love and trust of the Lord gave him the strength to lead others to know God. Mr. Angelo was a quiet, humble man who tilled the ground to produce a rich harvest to feed others. He believed in the future of farming and the skills needed to care for the land. It was his hope to extend this knowledge of God and farming to the youth of our schools, giving them the opportunity to excel and to be outstanding in the field of agriculture. The scholarship was established in 2015-16, and will be awarded to a student (freshman through senior) who is continuing his or her education at Routt Catholic High School, has demonstrated financial need, is in good standing, and has an interest in agriculture.
​​SALLY EOFF BAPTIST LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
The Sally Eoff Baptist Leadership Scholarship was founded through memorial gifts and softball tournaments after Sally passed away in January 2006. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a female student graduating from Our Saviour Grade School who has demonstrated leadership abilities in the classroom and in extracurricular activities and will be applied to tuition at Routt Catholic High School.
LINDA F. DINELLI BELOBRAJDIC SCHOLARSHIP
The Linda F. Dinelli Belobrajdic Scholarship was founded through memorial gifts and by her family after her passing. The scholarship is awarded annually to one student who has a financial need, demonstrates respect and concern for others, has no major disciplinary problems, and who has a 'C' average or better. All sophomores through seniors at RCHS for the academic year in which the scholarship will be awarded who meet the criteria listed may be considered for the scholarship.

BORDENKIRCHER TUITION AID SCHOLARSHIP
The family of John J. Bordenircher established The Bordenkircher Leadership scholarship in 2018 to provide assistance to an ongoing student based on their strong academic ability and contributions to Routt through a variety of activities. This is a minimum $250 scholarship for a sophomore, junior, or senior at Routt. Selection will be based on the student's strong academic ability (3.25 GPA or higher) as well as his or her leadership, abilities, and contributions to the school. Students must apply by writing a minimum 300 word essay titled "What going to Routt Catholic High School means to me and how I contribute there".

DICK CASLER SCHOLARSHIP
The Dick Casler Scholarship was funded by family and friends and will be awarded to a junior who has demonstrated financial need.
ROUTT CLASS OF 1957 SCHOLARSHIP
The Routt Class of 1957 Scholarship was established by the Routt Catholic High School Class of 1957 in celebration of their 50th class reunion. The scholarship will be awarded to a senior who has demonstrated financial need and is in good academic standing with a C+ or above. In addition, the recipient will have demonstrated leadership ability, campus citizenship, and high personal standards.
COLLIN EVANS SCHOLARSHIP
The Collin Evans Scholarship is dedicated in loving memory of Collin Joseph Evans, class of 2002, by family and friends. The scholarship shall be awarded to an upperclassman at Routt Catholic High School who displays an interest in any applied science or hands-on trade, be active in sports and/or other extra-curricular activities, and be attuned to the importance of the agricultural and engineering sciences in our daily lives. In addition, the recipient must be dedicated to doing his/her personal best, be known for demonstrating a positive attitude, and be appreciated and respected by faculty and students at RCHS.
DRAKE AND HART SCHOLARSHIP
The Drake and Hart Scholarship was established in 2013 in memory of Bruce Drake, a 1979 Routt graduate. The scholarship will be awarded to a family (All grade levels) who has demonstrated a financial need.
​FELLHAUER TUITION AID SCHOLARSHIP
The Fellhauer Tuition Aid Scholarship was established in 2002 by the will of Mardell (Thompson) Fellhauer, class of 1937 and is awarded to an incoming freshman who has need, has shown leadership abilities, and is involved in extra curricular activities.

TONY GAUDIO LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
The Tony Gaudio Leadership Scholarship was founded through memorial gift safter he passed away in 2011. The recipient of this award will be a freshman student graduating from Our Saviour Grade School who has demonstrated leadership abilities in the classroom and in extra curricular activities and will be applied to tuition at Routt Catholic High School.
MATTHEW LANGDON SCHOLARSHIP
The Matthew Langdon Scholarship was established in 2009 in memory of Matt, class of 1988, with proceeds from the annual Matt Langdon Memorial Golf Tournament. The scholarship shall go to a student who has demonstrated financial need, has maintained a C average or better, and is involved in extra-curricular activities. All students at RCHS are eligible for the academic year in which the scholarship will be awarded who meet the criteria listed may be considered for the scholarship.
JILL LAWLESS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Jill Lawless Memorial scholarship was established in 2013 in memory of Jill. This is an annual scholarship that may tgo to any student involved in extra-curricular activities (athletic, scholastic, or other type), who has demonstrated financial need, and has maintained a C average or better.

MARILYN MERRIS SCHOLARSHIP
The Marilyn Merris Scholarship was founded through memorials and the family after the passing of this beloved English teacher. The scholarship will be awarded based on financial need to one student who will be a sophomore through senior, has demonstrated respect and concern for others, and having had no major disciplinary problems. The recipient must have an overall grade point average of “C” or better and excel in the field of English.
ELYNOR NERGENAH SCHOLARSHIP
The Elynor Nergenah Scholarship was founded in 2005 by Mike Magill, class of 1985. The scholarship is awarded to a sophomore through senior level student who has financial need, demonstrates respect and concern for others, has not had major disciplinary problems, and has shown academic potential (but is not required to be at top of his/her class), especially within the English department.
PETER B. ORLANDINI SCHOLARSHIP
The Peter B. Orlandini Scholarship was established to honor Peter Orlandini, class of 1934, and the pride he held for his experience at Routt High School. The scholarship will be awarded to any student who has and maintains an average grade point average and who participates in community affairs, such as social and charitable organizations and/or extra curricular activities.
U.S. BANK SCHOLARSHIP
The U.S. Bank Scholarship established in 2013. A $1000 scholarship will be awarded annually to any student who has a financial need, demonstrates respect and concern for others, have no major disciplinary problems, and who has a 'C' average or better. All freshmen through seniors at RCHS for the academic year in which the scholarship will be awarded, who meet the criteria listed, may be considered for the scholarship.
BRAD SCHONE SCHOLARSHIP
The Brad Schone Scholarship was established in memory of Brad Schone by family and friends in 2010. The scholarship for an upperclassman student who is continuing his or her education at Routt Catholic High School, has demonstrated financial need and the family has special circumstances that would benefit from extra assistance, such as illness or job loss, and demonstrates respect for others. If there is no student whose family has special circumstances, the scholarship should be used for a student living in a single parent household. The scholarship recipient will be chosen by the principal and the guidance counselor, or by other persons designated by the school principal if needed.

In addition to these scholarships, several families have funded endowments to help with general tuition awards that Routt Catholic High School provides to all eligible families. MATTHEW R. CHUMLEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Matthew R. Chumley Memorial Scholarship is dedicated in loving memory of Matthew Robert Chumley in support of Routt Catholic High School. This scholarship was created by family and friends who attended the Matthew R. Chumley Free Throw Contest. This scholarship is to support a senior student who has a parent/grandparent who is an alumnus, has attended OSS K-8 and RCHS 9-11, has completed the Sacraments and participate in school Masses, and has participated in an extra-curricular activity for at least two years at RCHS. Along with an appplication, students must submit at essay which answers two fundamental questions: 1) How could you support a classmate who is struggling with a mental illness? 2) How can you bring awareness to mental health in a positive, hopeful, and pro-active way?
