Guidance

About Mr. Wildrick

Welcome to the Guidance Page! My name is Mr. Wildrick I've been with Routt now for 7 years. I have the privledge of getting to know each student as they enter Routt and prepare for their post-secondary education. I have an Associates Degree from Robert Morris College, a B.S. degree from Illinois State University and an M.S. from the University of Illinois at Springfield. A enjoy assisting students to gain entry into the post-secondary school of their choice and look forward to working with you!

Standarized Testing

RCHS students take the following exams:

  • Incoming Freshman: EXPLORE* (used for academic placement)
  • Sophomores: PLAN*
  • Juniors: PSAT, AP, ACT* and/or SAT
  • Seniors: ACT, SAT

* denotes a required exam

College and Career Counseling

Mr. Wildrick is available to meet with students and parents to assist with college and career planning.

An extensive college and career information area is available for student/parent browsing. A computer is also available in the college and career area for college and financial aid searches and for applying to college online.

College Financial Aid

Information about financial aid for college is available in the guidance office. An evening financial aid seminar for students and parents is offered each fall. Students are advised to begin searching for sources of aid in the spring of their junior year. ALL students planning to attend a college, university, or trade school should complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1 of their senior year.

Stop in the guidance office for applications and/or information about private and local scholarship and award opportunities. As other opportunities become available, they will be posted on the website.

Transcripts and Records

Transcript and Record Requests
Please call Mr. Wildrick at 217-243-5323 to arrange for transcripts to be sent to colleges, or for other record requests. A small fee may apply, depending on the request.
