Alumni Association Board Directory

The Alumni Association Board of Directors was created in 1990 by Sr. Philip Neri Crawford. In the early years, the Board ran the Annual Fund. Now the Association Board organizes activities that bring alumni together for fun and camaraderie, and they hold fund raisers to sponsor the two Alumni Association Scholarships that enable more families to send their children to Routt Catholic High School.

Alumni Association Awards

Col. James Hankins '73 (right) and Staff Sgt. Nick Gilmore '99
Both Routt graduates were stationed in Iraq and they
ran into each other during a flying mission.

Please help us recognize those alumni who have served in the military.

George S. Geanetos ’34

George served in the Unites States Air Force for 32 years and retired
out of McClellan Air Force Base in California in 1969 as a Colonel.

Betty (Spitzer) Williams '40
Betty served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1944-1945.

Vincent Maloney '43
Army WW II infantry.  Served in the South Pacific

Dr. Paul Doolin '44
Served in the United States Naval Reserve.  From 1944-1946
he was stationed in the South Pacific on a ship.

David Rawlings '44
David served in the Army 30 years before his retirement.
He served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

Robert Jackson '49
Robert served in the US Army and served in Korea.

Virgil Frederick '53
Virgil joined the U.S. Navy in August of 1954.  Retired November
1975 as Chief Warrant Officer.

Lewis Roesch '53
Lewis served in the Korean War from 1955-1956.

Richard (Dick) Lewis '55
Dick served over 26 years in the United States Air Force. 
He was also stationed in Vietnam in 1968.

Richard "Dick" Woodson '56
Richard was killed in service in Vietnam.

Jim Connolly '60

George E. Eck '66

Tom Murgatroyd '66
Colonel, USAF, Scott AFB Illinois.  Tom had various assignments
from 1970 in Illinois, Florida, Germany, Denmark, Poland, and
Antartica.

James Proffitt '66
James served in the Navy during Vietnam. He finished his
military career at the rank of lieutenant.

J. Daniel Walker '66

Dan was a sergeant with the 6985th Security Squadron in Eielson Air Force Base, Fairbanks Alaska. He flew on intelligence missions with the Strategic Air Command from 1972-1974.

James R. Duncan '67
James served in the Army in Vietnam.

Mike Sheehan '67
Mike served in the Air Force.

Nick Miller ‘67

Nick served in Viet Nam '69-'70 as an Army Warrant Officer helicopter pilot. He served in the guard and reserves thru '70s, '80s, '90s flying Hueys and Cobras until 1995. Nick retired from individual ready reserve in 2008 as CW4. He retired as an FAA Aerospace Engineer on 1/31/2010, and currently serves as aircraft certification consulting engineer (mechanical systems & equipment). His son Jeff, 23, is serving in Baghdad as Army combat engineer (heavy equipment operator).

John R. Doyle '68
In November 1972 Michael entered the Navy and served
until March 1993.  His rank at retirement was Commander,
Supply Corps.  While on active duty, he completed a Masters
in Public Administration at Penn State.

Dick Beard '70
Dick served in the Army

Patrick Sheehan '70
Pat served in the Army

Jim Hankins '73
COL Jim Hankins enlisted in the army in 1974 and was commissioned
an officer in 1979 after attending the United States Military Academy
and graduating from Western Illinois University ROTC.  He has been
stationed in numerous locations that include Germany, Ft. Bliss, TX,
Ft. Knox, KY, Honduras, Kuwait, Iraq and Poland.  Some of his recent
assignments have included being a military observer in Iraq/Kuwait
for the United Nations Observation Mission during the first gulf war
and Chief of the Military Liaison Team in Warsaw, Poland.  He is a
graduate of the US Army War College and hold the rank of Colonel. 
Jim is presently assigned as the deputy, Joint Force Headquarters
Advisory Support Team in Baghdad, Iraq.

Bernie served in the Navy

Tom Huot '78
Tom served in the Coast Guard

Eric Huot '80
Eric served in the Navy

Brian Huot '81
Brian served in the Navy

Michael Larkin '83
Michael is serving in the U.S. Marines.  As of this past summer he
has been serving for 21 years.  He is currently stationed in
San Diego, California.

Jim Watson '83
Jim served in Operation Desert Storm in the Marine Corp before
beginning his current career in public office.

Chris Santiago Foos '84
She is currently stationed in Djibouti, Africa, which is an African nation
surrounded by Somalia and Ethiopia.  She is in the US Marine Corps as a
Chief Warrant Officer.

Monte Wood '84
Served in the Guard

Chuck Kitson '85
Chuck is currently serving with the Illinois Army National Guard as a
Captain and Commander of the 126th Maintenance Company in Quincy, IL. 
Chuck's 19 years of service include activations for Operation Desert
Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Jeff Doolin '86

Dave Langdon '87
Dave serves in the Guard

Guy Bergschneider '88
Guy serves in the Guard

Gary Bettis '88
Gary served in the Navy

Carrie (Baptist) Perry '94
Carrie served active duty in the U.S. Air Force from 1996-2001,
stationed in Guam and served two tours in Kuwait for Operation
Southern Watch after the Gulf war.

Lanny Finn '96
Lanny is a 1st Lieutenant with the Illinois National Guard.  He is currently in
Baghdad, Iraq and is scheduled to return in late December 2005. 

Michael Chalcraft '98
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael Chalcraft
was recently stationed in Qatar. 

Patrick Jockisch '98
Patrick is currently a Military Intelligence Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army,
stationed at Camp Zama, Japan.  During his 7 years in the Army, he has
deployed to Bosnia and Iraq both with the 3rd Infantry Division.

Nicholas Gilmore '99
Nicholas is currently serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, in Balad, Iraq
with ILARNG 1-106th Aviation Battalion.

Jacob English '00

Lucas Jockisch '00
Lucas is currently in the Illinois National Guard stationed in Springfield.  He is
a Military Policeman.  During his time in the Guard, he has been to Nicaragua
and Iraq.
