Alumni Association Board Directory
The Alumni Association Board of Directors was created in 1990 by Sr. Philip Neri Crawford. In the early years, the Board ran the Annual Fund. Now the Association Board organizes activities that bring alumni together for fun and camaraderie, and they hold fund raisers to sponsor the two Alumni Association Scholarships that enable more families to send their children to Routt Catholic High School.

The Routt Development Office is seeking nominations for the 2010 Routt Alumni Association Awards. If you would like to nominate someone in a category please mail or e-mail to the Development Office the name of the individual and why you believe they should receive the award. The awards to be given on February 20, 2010, at Hamilton’s Banquet Hall are:
1) Business Friend of Routt Catholic High School-This award is in recognition of the support Routt Catholic High School receives from the business community. Each year the students and alumni of Routt are recipients of donated goods and services from a variety of local businesses.
2) Friend of Routt Catholic High School-This award is in recognition of the individuals who have been dedicated to the mission of Catholic education in Jacksonville. The Routt supporter who receives this award is one that has made lasting impressions on our past, present, and future Routt students, alumni and friends.
3) Routt Ambassador Award-This award is in recognition and grateful appreciation for outstanding efforts in promoting the school and for their passion to Routt Catholic.
4) Marilyn Merris Distinguished Service Award-This award is given to an individual that has given many years of outstanding service to Routt. This individual also is dedicated to the students of Routt, setting the standard by which all others shall be measured. This award is given to a current or past Routt staff member.
5) Routt Alumni Citation Award-This award is given to a Routt alum who has dedicated many hours to help Routt Catholic High School. This individual has been instrumental in the success of the school.
6) Routt Young Alum of the Year-The recipient of this award is an individual who has worked to assist our institution in fulfilling the mission of the school. This award is given to someone who has graduated from Routt in the last 25 years.
7) Routt Alumnus of the Year-This award is given to an alum for their outstanding efforts promoting our educational programs and bringing positive recognition to Routt in the Jacksonville Community.
8) Catholic Education Distinguished Service Award-This award is given to an individual who serves to promote catholic education. 2006 was the first year for this award.

out of McClellan Air Force Base in California in 1969 as a Colonel.

Served in the United States Naval Reserve. From 1944-1946

David served in the Army 30 years before his retirement.

Virgil joined the U.S. Navy in August of 1954. Retired November

Dick served over 26 years in the United States Air Force.

COL Jim Hankins enlisted in the army in 1974 and was commissioned
an officer in 1979 after attending the United States Military Academy
and graduating from Western Illinois University ROTC. He has been
stationed in numerous locations that include Germany, Ft. Bliss, TX,
Ft. Knox, KY, Honduras, Kuwait, Iraq and Poland. Some of his recent
assignments have included being a military observer in Iraq/Kuwait
for the United Nations Observation Mission during the first gulf war
and Chief of the Military Liaison Team in Warsaw, Poland. He is a
graduate of the US Army War College and hold the rank of Colonel.
Jim is presently assigned as the deputy, Joint Force Headquarters
Advisory Support Team in Baghdad, Iraq.Bernie Huot '76

She is currently stationed in Djibouti, Africa, which is an African nation

Patrick is currently a Military Intelligence Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army,
stationed at Camp Zama, Japan. During his 7 years in the Army, he has
deployed to Bosnia and Iraq both with the 3rd Infantry Division.Nicholas Gilmore '99
Nicholas is currently serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, in Balad, Iraq

Lucas is currently in the Illinois National Guard stationed in Springfield. He is
