Courses

GEOMETRY                 
GRADES 9 - 10

            Credit: 1 • Full Year
            Prerequisites: Algebra I; test scores; teacher recommendation
This course is for the average and above average student who will learn the basic structure of geometry as it applies to triangles, parallel lines, circles, and other polygons. The course emphasizes use of practical examples and geometric visualization for life applications.

ALGEBRA II                 
GRADES 10 - 12

            Credit: 1 • Full Year
            Prerequisites: Algebra I; Geometry; teacher recommendation
This course is an extension of the skills learned in Algebra I. Therefore; the student must have a good understanding of Algebra I to enroll in this course. The topics developed are more intense with additional work with quadratic equations and their graphs, and rational and radical equations.
 
MATH IV                      
GRADES 11 - 12

            Credit: 1 (5/A Grading) • Full Year
            Prerequisites:
Algebra II; Teacher Recommendation
This course is for the college-bound student. It deals with linear relations, equation theory, exponential functions, permutations and combinations, sequences and series, trigonometric functions and introduction to probability and statistics. Emphasis is placed on understanding mathematical concepts and theory.

CALCULUS                  
GRADE 12

            Credit: 1 (5/A Grading) • Full Year
            Prerequisites: Math IV; Teacher Recommendation
This course will include the study and review of the topics of algebra, trigonometry, and analytic geometry as well as basic topics within calculus. Skills will be developed in limits, continuity, the derivative, differentiability and other related topics. The student will master the basic topics within calculus and their relationship with algebra, trigonometry, and analytic geometry.
