Courses
Computer Skills
Orientation to the hardware and software available in the computer lab at RCHS. Introduction to computer lab rules and to computer-related classes at RCHS. Development of skills in basic keyboarding, basic business communications, following directions, and working independently. Experience in use of Microsoft Word 2003 and other software available at RCHS.
Computer Applications
Development of skills in basic keyboarding, basic business communications, following directions, and working independently. Experience in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint 2003 and other software available at RCHS
Graphic Design
Focus on Adobe InDesign CS2 to create custom text and graphic entities for inclusion in publications. Publications include programs, posters, brochures, newsletters, and booklets. The packaging of graphic arts with information in original compositions.
Web Publishing
An introduction to web page design, construction, and implementation using HTML and Dreamweaver. Students will learn to create sites from scratch, capitalizing on their experience with Adobe Photoshop. This course focuses on foundation skills that can be enhanced through future study.
Digital Photography
Digital Photography students will develop intermediate photography skills using a Nikon D40 provided by the school. In addition to ehancing their photography skills, students will learn intermediate and advanced features associated with Adobe Photoshop CS2 as it relates to Photography.
Yearbook
Students are responsible for the creation and production of the RCHS yearbook. Students will create the yearbook using a Web-based program. Focus on individual responsibility, teamwork, and initiative. Development of practical skills in photography, journalism, advertising, budgeting, publication design, and communication.

Bio
I was born and raised in Central Illinois and currently live in Rural Jacksonville. I attended Lincoln Land Community College and the University of Illinois at Springfield, graduating with a B.A. in Communication. I have taken graduate level courses at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. I began teaching at Routt in August of 2008. My previous experience was as a freelance graphic designer and Web developer for clients in the private, public and academic sector.
My husband Adam and I have been married for more than 8 years. I enjoy gardening, scrapbooking, and bird watching.
